Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) - 55 minutes or 85 minutes per session
EMDR is a nationally recognised, gold standard therapy approach used to help people process & recover from difficult experiences they have had. This could be events that have led to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a longstanding phobia, difficult childhood experiences, fears about the future, and more. EMDR differs from other therapies in that it may not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or event, and does not involve out of sessions tasks.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - 55 minutes per session
CBT is a highly researched and gold-standard approach for working with a range of psychological distress. CBT often focuses on patterns of thoughts/images, feelings, and behaviours. It can be used for exploring what triggers psychological difficulties during day to day life, and also how early experiences may be impacting on these patters. Treatment plans can be tailored based on what you would like to work on.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - 55 minutes per session
ACT & CFT are approaches that can be helpful in addition to other therapies, or as an alternate approach. ACT can support with tolerating discomfort, exploring personal values, and emphasizing living in alignment with these. CFT focuses on developing self-compassion, and activating the brain’s soothing system to reduce self-criticism, shame, and emotional distress.
